2nd Peaceful Beginnings Silent Auction
Last spring, we hosted our first silent auction! We were fortunate to raise funds through this auction to help out a member cover some of the expenses involved with the birth of her twin boys. This new blog has been started so that we will have a consistent place to hold the auction each year. We are excited to begin our second silent auction, just in time for the holidays! We are currently accepting donations and getting the items posted to the blog. Comments are currently closed, but will open for bidding on December 1, 2009. Bidding will remain open until December 7, 2009. Here are a few guidelines:
- Once bidding has opened, place your bid by leaving a comment under the item you'd like to bid on. Please make sure to either leave your e-mail address in the comment, or if you blog, make sure your profile is set to public so that we can contact you that way.
- Check back often to make sure you haven't been outbid!
- On December 7th, comments will close at 9:00 pm. The comment with the highest bid at that point will be the winner of the item.
- If the winner is local, we will be having a park date at which you can pick up your winnings, or you can arrange to pick them up from one of our houses. If you are not local, we will arrange shipping details with you. We will ask you to cover shipping charges, as this is a benefit auction!
- Payment for items can be made via paypal or via cash/check for local winners. Items will be distributed after the payment has been received/cleared.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us via the contact button on the right! If you have an item or service you'd like to donate, please let us know that as well! See you on the first to start the bidding!

Hypnobirthing book and relaxation CD

Hypnobirthing: The Mongan Method and Rainbow Relaxation CD set.
Book description:
"In this easy-to-understand guide, HypnoBirthing founder Marie Mongan explodes the myth of pain as a natural accompaniment to birth. She proves through sound medical information that it is not our bodies but our culture that has made childbirth a moment of anguish, and that when we release the fear of birth, a fear that is keeping our bodies tense and closed, we will also release the pain.
HypnoBirthing is nature, not manipulation. It relaxes the mind in order to let the body work as it is designed. The HypnoBirthing exercises—positive thinking, relaxation, visualization, breathing and physical preparation—will lead to a happy and comfortable pregnancy, even if you are currently unsure of an intervention-free birth. Your confidence, trust and happy anticipation will in turn lead to the peaceful, fulfilling and bonding birth that is your right as a mother.
More than 10,000 happy couples have had their lives changed for the better by HypnoBirthing. More than 500 news organizations—including Good Morning America, The Today Show, Dateline, The Richard & Judy Show, Time, Newsweek, Parenting and Better Homes & Gardens—have joined the movement for better birthing.
Why is HypnoBirthing changing the way the world gives birth? That's simple. Because it works."
